Laminate Flooring not All Are Created Equally by Anthony Garrison
There are few things worse than that sinking feeling you get when you realize you made the wrong choice after purchasing a costly item, knowing you now are tied to it.
I know you will find folks available that have felt this way after buying laminate kitchen floors.
As a laminate installer I need to educate my readers concerning how to make a good choice when trying to settle on the best laminate flooring.
There are a couple of factors that most consumers don't consider as well as know about whenever they shop for their flooring.
Based around the hundreds of installations I have done, probably the most important factors could be the locking system. A good locking method is what holds the laminate together and will be consistent in one plank to a new. The machining in the locking system can determine how flush the edges of the planks are when they are connected. And the ability for that planks not to separate. I have seen brands that might develop gaps after a while for no apparent reason.
Also locking systems can produce a difference between a straightforward installation or possibly a difficult installation, especially for that do it yourself installation.
In a perfect world I would wish to just install brands that I know are first-rate. But unfortunately most consumers don't realize that laminate floors can vary a whole lot between brands.
The cost can vary depending on in which you purchase your laminate. For instance your neighborhood retail flooring outlet may cost considerably more than buying online, or maybe the opposite. So compare pricing in advance to save more money. The higher the cost of laminate flooring is not a guarantee that it'll be a top quality.
AC ratings also have to be considered, the ac rating is measured on a scale from 1 to 5 , 5 being one of the most durable. I have noticed that even two separate brands with the same AC rating may vary as far as durability.
The thickness is very important also. Laminate is constructed from 6mm up to 14mm thick. It can figure out how tough the locking strategy is. The thinner the planks the less there is for the locking system. Laminate will flex when walked on, depending on the flatness of the floor underneath. You will not notice this as much or whatsoever with a 12mm or 14mm product.
I are aware that the manufacturers require that this floor in which the laminate is to be installed, must fall in just a range as far as the flatness in the floor. They say the floor shouldn't be anymore than ? inch difference in height in a 6 foot radius.
Most installations I have done tend not to meet these requirements, particularly in mobile homes.
The problem is that many home owners are certainly not prepared to pay the additional money to have their floors flattened out. If all floors must be as flat as the makers say, most folks wouldn't have laminate kitchen design Peabody MA floors.
Don't get me wrong some floors can be very bad and have to be addressed regardless of whether it cost extra in order to have laminate kitchen floors installed.
One of the very best things to do is always to do your research and locate a good quality laminate floors.
I showed about laminate floors on my site to help educate my readers based in my own experience from installing. I write reviews determined by installations of different brands.
