My heresy will end with this declaration: the only way to save comics might be to let the comic market, as it exists today, shrivel up and pass away. It's on the road as it is, with everybody racing to tear whatever pieces they can obtain from its still (barely) living remains. The industry isn't the heart of comics and didn't make them, so attempt to be different. Put down the newest issue of the comic scans industry death watch, Wizard. Overlook the christmas party line that an indy book will sell less than 250 copies - there is a world outside of the Geppi chokehold.
Picture simply for a second that you got up tomorrow morning and unexpectedly there disappeared doctors anywhere. What a disaster! Even my partner who isn't really a strong supporter of the medical industry would lament their death.
You may just wish to sit down and consider what your resources are and if you have any connections. You may discover that somebody understands someone who can do you a favor. When you pull the committee together, you never understand exactly what you will find.
