Installed this ahead of traveling from Texas to Colorado aprox. 2000 miles round trip in my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 five.3 liter with 198000 miles on truck.Set up was a breeze. Fuel mileage went up substantially. Averaged 16 to 19 MPG driving 65-75 MPH. Really good addition to Flowmaster 60 exhaust system. Lots of pep. Appreciate it!

AFE's kit (75-11872) was capable to match S&B's kit in airflow basically because their filter is only protected by a metal heat shield. A heat shield can be less restrictive than a customized air box nevertheless, in our opinion it does not seal correctly permitting the engine to ingest scorching air.
