I was under the impression the 03-05 DEs gained HP from any intake that had a proper velocity stack since the stock airbox did not have 1, BUT aftermarket selections commonly heatsoak kinda undesirable. 06 airbox has a velocity stack and does not have the very same heatsoak challenges so it is a superior substitute.
