Naked Basics Palette From Urban Decay
As the first matte palette by Urban Decay, NAKED Basics is everything BUT "basic"! I bought this well over a month ago now, and still have been using it nearly every day since. Coming club sport urbain from a makeup junkie this is the big deal. I hate to state it but it is almost replaced my original NAKED palette, and given me an almost-good-enough reason to never buy NAKED 2... almost;)
What are the colors?
Basics is often a neutral matte assortment of 6 eyeshadows. Each very useable by itself, or may be combined for both contouring and highlighting. The color selection within this is perfect for the natural daytime look, or it can easily be accustomed to create a more defined dramatic evening smokey eye. The 6 shades which might be included in it are listed below:
VENUS ' demi-matte cream FOXY ' creamy/milky matte
W.O.S ' very light pink matte
NAKED 2 ' brown/grey matte
FAINT ' mocha brown matte
CRAVE ' dark brown/black matte
How do they think?
The textures of every color can be extremely soft, softer than the shadows of their other palettes, and when there's any word I can produce that kinda is sensible I'll use "buttery". Creamy, just incredibly soft, and silky of the skin. There could be some fallout though so make sure you tap off your brush practically before applying to the eyelid. I like to utilize a primer, nowadays I'm loving my MAC Painterly paint pot mainly because it neutralizes any redness on and around my lid and offers a really soft base for your shadows by sitting on.
And the cost?
It retails at $27, nearly half the cost of the main. Granted you are only getting 6 colors, but for that quality of the shadows it's MORE than worth it. Trust me, there is really a reason why Urban Decay's Naked collection is one of the most desired high-end eyeshadow palettes available on the market. If you are a makeup collector then this is going to be in your stash. Period.
Are there any dupes?
Sure matte palettes are really easy to find. NYX Cosmetics has one called The Natural Eyeshadow Palette and it's cheap, $6 I think. Wet 'n Wild, another of the best drugstore brands includes a great palette called Drinking a Glass of Shine, formerly known as I Heart Matte, which just has 2-3 comparable shades to Basics. It's an awesome palette though and I hit pan on that long ago. Another that can only cost you around $5.
Let me know if you have already bought Basics, or if you're thinking of getting it! I'd love to hear your thoughts.
